As a mom-to-be, this St. Patrick’s Day I will be skipping the drinking festivities . However, for those of you able to enjoy the Irish spirit, here are seven lucky cocktails, and shots, for your St. Patrick’s Day celebrations.

1. Classic Irish Coffee:


  • 1 1/2 ounces Irish whiskey
  • 6 ounces of hot, strong coffee
  • Whipped cream
  • 3/4 ounce Irish cream
  • 1 teaspoon of brown sugar


  1. Pour the whiskey into an Irish coffee mug
  2. Put a spoon in the mug (to prevent glass from breaking) and pour in the hot coffee
  3. Add in the Irish Cream
  4. Add the whipped cream on top
  5. Garnish with brown sugar sprinkles
  6. Enjoy!

2. Irish Mule:


•    Ice

•    2 ounces Irish whiskey

•    ½ ounce fresh lime juice

•    ~3/4 cup ginger ale or ginger beer


1.    Fill a glass with ice. (Copper mugs work best for this recipe)

2.    Add whiskey and lime juice. Stir together

3.    Top with ginger ale or ginger beer

4.    Serve with a lime wedge

5.    Enjoy!

3.  Shamrock Sour:


  • Ice
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • 1/2 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup simple syrup (Equal parts water and sugar, over heat, stirred until sugar dissolves. Cool before using)
  • 2 ounces Irish whiskey
  • 1 drop of green food coloring
  • lime wedges for garnish


  1. Combine ingredients and shake well; strain over ice
  2. Garnish with a lime wedge
  3. Enjoy!

4. Fuzzy Leprechaun:


  • Ice
  • 1 Garnish (orange slices and maraschino cherries)
  • 1/2 ounce Orange juice
  • 1/2 ounce Pineapple juice
  • 1 ounce Curacao, Blue
  • 1 ounce Peach schnapps
  • 1 ounce Vodka


                1.   Fill a tall glass with ice about half way (hurricane glasses work great for this drink)

                2.   Pour liquor over ice

                3.   Add juice and stir (use juice to adjust drink color to your visual and taste preference)

                4.   Add garnish

5.   Enjoy!

5. Kiss Me I’m Irish:


  • Ice
  • 1 ounce Midori
  • 2 ounces sweet and sour mix (1 cup water, 1 cup sugar, ½ cup lime juice, ½ cup lemon juice-combine over heat and stir until dissolved. Cool before using)
  • 1 ounce lemon juice
  • Orange slices for garnish


1. Fill a tall glass with ice

2. Combine the Midori, sweet and sour, and the lemon juice- stir mixture

3. Garnish with a slice of orange

4. Enjoy!

6. Lucky Bunny Shot:


  • 1 ounce vanilla vodka
  • ½ ounce green melon liqueur
  • ½ teaspoon apple puckers
  • A few drops of limoncello


1. Combine in a double-shot glass

2. Add a green Peep bunny for garnish

3. Enjoy!

7. Irish Flag Shot


  • 1 part creme de menthe
  • 1 part Baileys Irish Cream or Godiva White Chocolate
  • 1 part Grand Marnier


1. Use a double shot glass-Pour in the crème de menthe as the bottom layer

2. Pour in Baileys or Godiva layer very slowly over the back of a spoon to prevent the layers from mixing

3. Add the Grand Marnier layer very slowly over the back of a spoon to prevent mixing

4. Enjoy!
